Maritimes Cluster Norddeutschland

The Maritime Cluster Northern Germany (MCN) includes the five federal coastal states of Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein. The business office of Lower Saxony is located in Elsfleth. The objective of the MCN is to promote exchange and cooperation among companies and institutions from the maritime industry to strengthen the regional economyand whilst contributing to the creation of highly skilled jobs. In this way, the MCN is the interface between stakeholders from industry, academia and politics.
The MCN identifies partners for innovative projects and develops solutions for the industry drawing on exchange of expert information. This is achieved via dialogue platforms to facilitate networking opportunities, while its members are given support to develop ideas, services and products that will establish their position in the market. Support is provided in the areas of networking and events management, public relations, project consulting, training and advanced education, including technology and knowledge transfer. With its headquarters in Kiel, three business offices (Elsfleth, Hamburg and Kiel) and two other contact points in Northern Germany (Bremen and Rostock), the MCN is an integral partner to Germany’s maritime industry.
